Hey guess what…Unseen Denver won the very first ever Denver Westword #WebAward last week. The awards party was kind of a clusterfuck, but the night was fun and they had free tacos and beer, which is never a bad idea. It was a fine time, plus I got to hang out with my friends Erika from Redhead Writing (who won a #WebAward too), and also Sara and LeVar from Talk Thirty To Me which was nominated for Best Personal Blog.
Unseen Denver was a game I started playing in the spring of 2009 by posting photos to Twitter. I didn’t think anyone was incredibly interested in it but me. Some of my good friends started doing it too and other people would tell me that they liked it, which was very encouraging. I built a small photoblog, published a few pictures and then local support started pouring in. Unseen Denver is very lucky that things got started the way that they did. I wouldn’t have thought twice about it if it weren’t my homies, my Twitter friends and the other people that enjoy coming to this website.
You guys should leave more comments though…seriously.
